چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to study the relations between different concepts of dispersive solution for the Vlasov-Poisson system in the gravitational case. Moreover we give necessary conditions for the existence of partially and totally dispersive solutions and a sufficient condition for the occurence of statistical dispersion. These conditions take the form of inequalities involving the energy, the mass and the momentum of the solution. Examples of dispersive and non-dispersive solutions—steady states, periodic solutions and virialized solutions—are also considered. AMS classification (2000). Primary: 35B05, 35B40, 82B40, 82C40

The effect of variation of stellar dispersion velocities by the galactic latitude in interpreting gravitational microlensing observations

Our galaxy is a spiral galaxy and its stars are mostly in a thin disk and rotate around the galactic center. The vertical component of the dispersion velocity of stars is a function of the galactic latitude and decreases with increasing it. In the galactic Besancon model, this dependence is ignored and they just consider the dependence of dispersion velocity on the stellar age. Becanson model i...

Soliton dynamics and scattering

A survey of results and problems of soliton dynamics in dispersive and hyperbolic nonlinear PDE’s and the related spectral and scattering theory. I focus on the problem of large time behavior of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation, with both solitary and radiative waves appearing in the solution. The equations are nonintegrable in general and in arbitrary dimension. I will formulate the main con...

Soliton dynamics for the Korteweg-de Vries equation with multiplicative homogeneous noise

Abstract We consider a randomly perturbed Korteweg-de Vries equation. The perturbation is a random potential depending both on space and time, with a white noise behavior in time, and a regular, but stationary behavior in space. We investigate the dynamics of the soliton of the KdV equation in the presence of this random perturbation, assuming that the amplitude of the perturbation is small. We...

On Dispersive and Classical Shock Waves in Bose-Einstein Condensates and Gas Dynamics

A Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) is a quantum fluid that gives rise to interesting shock wave nonlinear dynamics. Experiments depict a BEC that exhibits behavior similar to that of a shock wave in a compressible gas, eg. traveling fronts with steep gradients. However, the governing Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation that describes the mean field of a BEC admits no dissipation hence classical dissip...

Dispersive chiral approach to Meson-meson dynamics: Spectroscopy results for light scalars and precision studies

Dispersive approaches provide model independent description of meson-meson scattering. We first review here the use of dispersion relations to obtain a model independent unitarization of Chiral Perturbation Theory amplitudes, that establish the existence of light scalar mesons and whose leading 1/Nc behavior suggest they ahve a non q̄q dominant component. We also review the forward dispersion re...
